- (rammed concrete)

Magri Williams is currently working on a ground floor rear and side extension, which connects internal and external spaces.
The proposed form references a Japanese shrine using a structure made of layered beams that span across two columns. With a sharp focus on just three materials, the resulting design is a calm sanctuary for living.
Set on the same plane with continuous use of materials, the distinction between outside and in is blurred and makes the internal space feel larger.
The shrine is made up of layering beams. We are exploring the use of rammed concrete to create a layered concrete header formed from one piece.
